Town Council Recap – August 19, 2025

The Esto Town Council met on Monday, August 19 for their regular monthly meeting. Several key updates were made, including changes to Town Hall hours and updates to the makeup of the Town Council.

Town Hall Hours Updated
Effective immediately, Esto Town Hall’s public hours are now Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This change reflects recent adjustments to staff schedules and operations.

New Council Appointments
The Council voted to appoint two new members: Phyllis Reif to Council Seat 1 and Joshua Davenport to Council Seat 4. We welcome both new members and appreciate their willingness to serve the community.

2025 Town Election Set
The Council adopted Resolution 2025-08, officially setting the 2025 Esto Town Council Election. The candidate qualifying period will be:
📅 Monday, September 1st through Friday, September 5th
🕗 Daily from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM Central Time
More information on the election and candidate requirements will be posted soon.

Other Meeting Highlights:

  • The Council accepted the resignation of Council Member Krystal Bien, effective August 8, 2025. We thank her for her service to the Town.
  • The Town Council President signed the sales agreement for the former Lamb’s Junkyard property, approving the sale to Esto resident and businessman Danny Powell.
  • The Council received updates from the Esto Volunteer Fire Department and the Public Works Department.
  • Council also discussed the Town’s FY 2026 budget, recent correspondence from FMIT regarding insurance coverage, and made adjustments to employee hours in response to budget considerations.
  • A council member also raised concerns and presented a personnel-related document to the Town Clerk for the record.
