Town of Esto Council Election – December 1, 2025

The Town of Esto Council Election will take place on Monday, December 1, 2025, in accordance with the Town Charter, which sets Election Day on the first Monday in December. Voting will be held at Esto Town Hall (3312 Second Avenue South) from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM.

Seats on the Ballot

This year, four of the five council seats will appear on the ballot:

  • Seat 1 – Council Member Phyllis Reif was appointed in August 2025 following the resignation of Krystal Bien. The term for this seat ends in 2025.
  • Seat 3 – Council Member Heather Huckaby was appointed in 2025. This election will determine who serves the remainder of the term, ending in 2027.
  • Seat 4 – Council Member Joshua Davenport was appointed in August 2025 after the passing of Council Member Maxie Yates, who was elected in 2023 for a term through 2026. This seat must now be filled by election.
  • Seat 5 – Council Member Teresa Harrison was elected in 2022 for a three-year term expiring in 2025.

Candidate Qualifying

The qualifying period will run from Monday, September 1 through Friday, September 5, 2025. Esto Town Hall will be open 7:00 AM through 1:00 PM daily during this week for candidates to file their paperwork.

To qualify, candidates must:

  • Have resided within Esto’s town limits for at least six months
  • Be a legally qualified voter of the Town of Esto
  • Be current on all payments due to the Town

2024 Town Council Election Cancelled

Esto Town Council Election for December 2, 2024, cancelled; Seat 1 Filled by Acclamation

Esto, FL – August 30, 2024 – The Esto Town Council has announced that the upcoming local election scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024, has been cancelled due to the results of the recent qualifying period. The qualifying window, which ran from Monday, August 26 through Friday, August 30, 2024, resulted in the following outcomes:

Krystal Bien, who was appointed earlier this year to Seat 1 following the resignation of Josh Davenport, was the only candidate to qualify for the Seat 1 position. As she is unopposed, Krystal Bien is declared elected to Seat 1 by acclamation. 

The other position up for election, Seat 3, did not receive any qualifying candidates. As a result, Seat 3 will remain vacant and open.

The official results of the election will be certified by the Esto Town Council at their regular December meeting on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
