Fair Housing Information for Esto Residents

The Town of Esto is committed to supporting fair and equal housing opportunities for all residents.

Federal Fair Housing laws prohibit discrimination in the sale, rental, financing, or advertising of housing based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin. These protections help ensure that all individuals and families are treated fairly when seeking housing.

Examples of prohibited housing discrimination may include:

  • Refusing to sell or rent housing because of a person’s protected status.
  • Providing different terms, conditions, or services based on a protected status.
  • Discriminating in housing financing or mortgage lending.
  • Restricting access to real estate or brokerage services based on a protected status.

Residents who believe they have experienced housing discrimination may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

For more information about Fair Housing rights and protections, please review the attached Fair Housing flyer or visit HUD’s Fair Housing website.

The Town of Esto is sharing this information as part of its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program requirements and its commitment to equal opportunity for all residents.
