Precautionary Boil Water Notice Lifted (Sept 12, 2025)

✅ Update – Boil Water Notice Lifted
Effective Friday, September 12, 2025, the Precautionary Boil Water Notice is rescinded. Required bacteriological samples returned satisfactory results; the water is safe to drink.

What to do now
• Resume normal water use—no boiling needed.
• Flush cold taps for 1–2 minutes.
• Discard ice made during the notice and make a fresh batch.
• If you have refrigerator/point-of-use filters, flush or replace per the manufacturer’s instructions.
• A little discoloration or air in lines can be normal—run water until clear.

ORIGINAL POST: Here’s an update on the water outages in Esto today.

This morning our Public Works team had to shut down service town-wide while they repaired a leak at Hwy 79 & 2nd Ave South. They finished the repair and restored service this afternoon. Then later, a separate excavation damaged a line in another part of town, so we had to shut down the system again to make repairs.

Because the system was shut down and pressure was lost during today’s maintenance/broken-line repairs, a Precautionary Boil Water Notice will be in effect.

As a precaution, please boil tap water for 1 minute before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes until we announce the notice is lifted.

You may use tap water for bathing and showering—just avoid swallowing. Some discoloration or air in the lines is normal right after service returns.

We’re collecting required water samples now and will post an update as soon as the notice can be lifted.

Thank you for your patience while we get this resolved.
