Remembering Council Member Maxie Yates

The Town of Esto mourns the passing of Council Member Maxie Yates, who represented Seat 4 on the Esto Town Council. Born in 1942, Maxie was a long-time resident of Esto and a true embodiment of small-town spirit.

Elected in 2023, Maxie was known on the council—and in the community—as a talker, a storyteller, and someone who was always ready to jump in and help out. His lively personality and deep involvement in local events made him a well-known figure in Esto.

Maxie’s energy and love for our community touched many lives, and his absence will be deeply felt. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Maxie’s family and friends during this difficult time.

The Town Council will consider next steps for filling the vacancy in Seat 4 at an upcoming meeting.
