Notice of 2026 Town Council Election & Candidate Qualifying

The Town of Esto will hold its annual municipal election on Monday, December 7, 2026, to fill four Town Council seats.

Seats Up for Election

  • Seat 1 – Krystal Bien: Remainder of the unexpired term ending in 2028.
  • Seat 2 – Greg Wells: Regular three-year term.
  • Seat 3 – Christopher Burghoff: Remainder of the unexpired term ending in 2027.
  • Seat 4 – Joshua Davenport: Regular three-year term.

Candidate Qualifying

Monday, October 26, 2026, at 8:00 AM through Friday, October 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM (Central Time).

Candidates must submit their required qualifying documents to the Town Clerk by the qualifying deadline.

Candidates must be qualified electors of the Town of Esto, have maintained residency within the town limits for at least six months, and meet all other applicable qualifications.

Candidate information packets are available for download below or may be obtained from the Town Clerk at Esto Town Hall.

The packet contains the required forms, filing instructions, campaign finance reporting schedule and financial disclosure requirements. The process involves three basic steps:

Step 1 – File Candidacy Forms: Submit the initial paperwork appointing a campaign treasurer and designating a campaign depository. These forms must be filed before accepting campaign contributions or making campaign expenditures.

Step 2 – Campaign Finance Reporting: Candidates are responsible for meeting applicable campaign finance reporting deadlines, even when there is no campaign activity.

Step 3 – Ballot Qualifying: Submit all required qualifying documents, financial disclosure paperwork and the applicable election assessment during the official qualifying period.

Candidates are encouraged to obtain their packets and review the requirements well in advance of qualifying.
